Camps are free; lunch will be provided for all participants.
The Providence Department of Parks & Recreation's Summer Sports Camp program will take place this year in July and August at locations throughout the City.
"The Providence Parks & Recreation Summer Sports Camps are a great opportunity for young people in Providence to spend time outdoors while learning the valuable skills of dedication and teamwork," said Mayor Angel Taveras. "I urge families to take advantage of this great, free opportunity for summer fun."
Programs are offered free of cost and are available for children aged 9-12. Free lunch will be provided for all participants.
Information sessions will take place on Monday, June 17 and Monday, June 24. Both sessions will start at 6pm and will be held at the Providence Career + Technical Academy at 41 Fricker Street.
Please bring completed registration forms to Providence Recreation at 11 West Dr., Providence, RI 02904.
Summer sports camps run from 9am until 3pm (golf runs from 9am to 12pm) and options include sailing lessons, golf, lacrosse, tennis, track and field, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball and soccer.
The Parks & Recreation Summer Sports Camp was created in partnership with the Community Boating Center, Buttonhole Golf and Meeting Street School.
Space for the Parks & Recreation Summer Sports Camp is limited, so parents are encouraged to sign up their children in advance of the upcoming information sessions.
