Retail Label The Limited Makes Scholarship Grants Available to Providence Students

Application and grant guidelines available online tonight at thelimited/scholarship.

Tonight, October 6, Mayor Angel Taveras and The Limited CEO Linda Heasley will announce an exciting new opportunity for Providence students at an in-store event at the Providence Place Mall from 5:30-7:30PM.

The Limited, a private label women's apparel and accessories brand which recently returned to Rhode Island, will announce the details of its first-ever scholarship grant competition.

"We are grateful that The Limited recognizes the great wealth of student potential we have here in this community. Our students are our future, and we are fortunate to have a terrific partner like The Limited to help them achieve their dreams," said Mayor Taveras.

"The Limited provides women with the fashion and confidence they need to achieve personal and professional success in every aspect of their lives," said Heasley. "Rhode Island is a virtual epicenter for smart and creative individuals given the number of great schools in the area. That is why we are going to be helping one ambitious fashion, retail, or design student make his or her personal success story a reality with a $5,000 award."

The competition will require students to write an essay of 2000 words or less about their personal success goals, and what they mean to them. The application and further information guidelines will be available online at www.thelimited/scholarship after the kick-off event.

The Limited will also be offering a 40% discount to students with valid college identification from October 7-9. The Limited is located on the second level at Providence Place.
