Statement from Mayor David N. Cicilline Regarding Historic Signing

"I applaud the bipartisan vote and the persistent efforts of Democratic leaders and President Obama to finally put an end to the discriminatory 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' policy. President Obama's historic signing of the law repealing 'Don't Ask Don't Tell' means that our brave men and women in uniform will no longer have to live in fear of not just a foreign enemy, but of the possibility that they will be removed from the military simply because of who they are.
