Taveras Administration Announces Staff Transitions

Ann Gooding Takes on Duties as Acting Deputy Communications Director; Meaghan McCabe Named Deputy Press Secretary.


Mayor Angel Taveras has announced two staff transitions in the Communications Department of the Mayor's Office:

Ann Gooding, who serves as Communications Director in the Office of Economic Development, has assumed additional responsibilities as the Acting Deputy Director of Communications in the Mayor's Office. Gooding has worked for the City of Providence since 2002, serving variously in the Mayor's Press Office and as Acting Director of the Mayor's Substance Abuse Prevention Council, among other assignments. She holds a Master's of Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island and earned her bachelor's degree at Rhode Island College.

Additionally, Meaghan McCabe will take on the role of Deputy Press Secretary in the Mayor's communications office. As Deputy Press Secretary, McCabe will be the primary contact for press inquiries and will assist in drafting media materials and coordinating the City's social media accounts. McCabe, a Rhode Island native and graduate of the University of Rhode Island, previously served as the City's Director of Multimedia and Social Media.
