Family Programs | Birthday Parties

Make your child's birthday a memorable day by celebrating it at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium. Birthday parties are available all year. Parties are available for children turning ages 6-10 and are offered on Saturdays and Sundays September through April. Two special themed parties available for an additional fee. Themed parties include an applicable hands-on activity and access to selected Museum Collections.

Each party includes:

Party Themes:

• Fossil Frenzy
  Journey through time, exploring wonders trapped in stone… See what life was like long ago, without ever leaving the Museum! Hold the past in your hands as you are given the opportunity to explore the Museum's fantastic fossil finds!
• Rockin' Rockets
  Get ready to blast off to worlds of fun! Join us for an exploration of space as you learn about rockets, astronauts, and the many worlds found near and far. Get closer to outer space than ever before, as you hold a space rock in your hands! Have an out of this world time!

Party Fees:

• Birthday Party Package - $100.00/$75.00 museum members (For 10 children & 4 adults/each additional child $4, adult $3)
• Themed Birthday Party Package - $125.00/$100.00 museum members (For 10 children & 4 adults/each additional child $5, adult $3) For an additional $1.50 per child, special goodie bags can be purchased for each guest. Minimum of one week notification.

Planning Guidelines:

• Maximum of 20 children, including the birthday child.
• Parties are offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00pm-3:30pm.
• Parents provide refreshments and paper goods (Cake and clear drinks only. No fruit punch.)
• Parties may be reserved up to three months in advance of the current month and must be reserved at least two weeks prior to your party date.
• Check or cash may be used to make your payment. Debit/Credit Cards are not accepted. Full payment is due on the day of your party. To schedule a party, contact the Museum's Education Department, (401) 785-9457 x247.

Cancellation Guidelines:

• 100% refund if cancelled at least four weeks prior to party date.
• 50% refund if cancelled at least three weeks prior to party date.
• 25% refund if cancelled at least one week prior to party date. NO refund if cancelled less than one week prior to party date. You may reschedule.
• Inquire about our inclement weather cancellation/refund policy.
