Begin the day by completing a geology-themed museum quest through the Museum to discover the fantastic rock, mineral and fossil specimens on display. The Museum's Geologist will also be available to identify any rock specimens that scouts bring to the Museum. Then join Museum Educators for a special mineral testing workshop as you learn to identify minerals using their unique characteristics. Discover why geology rocks at the Museum!
Space Exploration!

Begin the day by completing a space-themed museum quest through the Museum as you discover the past, present and future of space exploration and astronomy. Experiment with telescopes, spectroscopes and more to learn the tools of the astronomers trade. Then join Museum Educators for a special full dome planetarium show, "Two Small Pieces of Glass". While looking through the astronomer's telescope explore the Galilean Moons, Saturn's rings, and spiral structure of galaxies. Learn about the discoveries of Galileo, Huygens, Newton, Hubble and many others. It's sure to be an out-of-this-world experience!
Cost: $5 per child, $3 per adult.
Pre-registration is required, program size is limited.
Please note: this is not a drop-off program. Adults must supervise their children throughout the duration of the program, at least one adult per every 4 children. Siblings (at least 4 years of age) may participate, but they will be charged the $5 fee. No children under 4 please, as they will not be permitted in the planetarium or workshop areas. Pre-registrations are non-refundable. In the event of a snow cancellation, your registration may be applied to a future program.
