New England Patriots "Football For You" Clinic Back in Providence on June 18

Boys and girls ages 11-14 invited to participate in this free event and must pre-register.

The Providence Parks + Recreation Department is calling all Providence youth ages 11 to 14 to sign up and pre-register for the New England Patriots' "Football For You" Clinic taking place on June 18 from 12:30-5:00PM at Classical High School.

"Participating in sports is definitely a great way for our kids to stay active and healthy. It's an even greater event when the New England Patriots are involved!" said Mayor Taveras. "I encourage parents and kids to try this program out and enjoy a fun day of football in Providence."

Former New England Patriots players, Providence high school coaches and the St. John's High School coaching staff (based in Mass.) will be on-hand to lead participants through a fun and active afternoon of offensive and defensive techniques in football. The clinic is free of charge but interested participants must pre-register to attend and bring an adult, parent or guardian to the event.

The "Football For You" Clinic is hosted by the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation and Alumni Club, in partnership with the Providence Parks + Recreation Department and Providence Schools. Sponsors include Papa Gino's, Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Company and the Hanover Insurance Group.

The clinic is "first come, first serve" to the first 250 participants who provide a completed registration form. Call the Recreation Department at 421-7740 ext 323 for more information.
