Different than a natural disaster, an act of Terrorism will most likely occur without warning, making advance preparation the best course of defense. The extent of ones preparation will vary based on ones personal situation, but at a minimum should include the making of a supply kit along with a family communication plan. The City of Providence through PEMA is actively monitoring and assessing the impact of national events and threat levels. In addition, PEMA is working closely with many Federal Agencies to have the proper equipment, training, technical assistance and exercises to respond to a Terrorist Attack in our city.

The probability of a Terrorist Attack is low but the consequences will be high. Therefore, please take the time to get informed and prepare by making the necessary kits and plans to meet your individual of family needs.
