Fingerprint ID leads to bank robbery arrest

Providence, RI: On September 21, 2012 Citizens Bank located at 792 Hope Street was robbed by a subject described as wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans, sunglasses and a do-rag with a baseball hat over it. The subject presented the bank teller with an envelope with a note inside stating "Give me the money, nothing funny." The subject left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. A witness approached police at the scene and stated a subject was seen throwing an envelope on the ground in front of 780 Hope Street as a dye pack exploded. The envelope was recovered by police. From the envelope BCI Detective Paul Romano was able to develop a fingerprint later identified as belonging to Jean Rosario, age 32.

On September 26 police obtained an arrest warrant for Rosario. Providence Police then received information from RI Department of Corrections Probation unit regarding Rosario's last known address. Providence Detectives and Cranston Police responded to the address and observed Rosario on the street where he identified himself and was taken into custody. Recovered from Rosario's residence were wigs, an assortment of hats and caps, framed sunglasses, camouflage gloves, colored hair spray, and a package of fake mustaches.

Rosario was charged with 1 Count of 2nd Degree Robbery and held for the next session of 6th District Court.
