Man's body found in Sophia Street fire ruled a homicide

Providence, RI - The Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of a man found in last night's fire on Sophia Street was a homicide.

At this time, the victim has not been positively identified, and his identity will not be released until the next of kin have been notified. The cause of the fire has not been determined and is under investigation.

Members of the Rhode Island State Fire Marshal's Office, the Providence Fire Marshal, and Providence Police Detectives continue to investigate this incident.
