PROVIDENCE – Mayor David N. Cicilline will join representatives from Providence/Cranston Workforce Solutions and local business leaders for the grand opening of The Providence Skills Center on Tuesday, January 10 at 9:30 a.m. at Providence Place Mall.
The Providence Skills Center is part of a nationwide program designed to help qualified candidates obtain jobs in the retail and service industries. The Skills Center is the only one in New England and was created in partnership with the City of Providence, NRF Foundation, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, Rhode Island Retail Federation, General Growth Properties, Inc., and Comprehensive Community Action Program.
Directions to the Providence Skills Center: Park in the mall garage, exit to Francis Street, walk to Joe’s American Bar & Grille and proceed to the walkway between Joes’s American Bar & Grille and the railroad tracks, heading towards Promenade Street. Go down one flight of stairs/ramp and the Skills Center is on the right.
