PROVIDENCE – Mayor David N. Cicilline called today for nominees for the 7^h Annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame.

Letters of nomination for “anyone who has made a substantial contribution to acceptance, social justice, civil rights and equality for the residents of this community, should be sent to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame Selection Committee,” in care of the Mayor’s Office, Providence City Hall, Providence, RI 02903.  The letters should detail how the nominee meets the above criteria, not to exceed two pages in length, and include contact information. The deadline for submitting is November 2, 2009.

The Mayor will host a formal induction ceremony in January 2010, and inductees’ names will be engraved in a permanent plaque that hangs in City Hall.
