The Mechanical Division oversees all work related to the installation of gas piping, gas appliances and related accessories as covered in the code. This includes gas piping systems extending from the point of delivery to the inlet connections of appliances and the installation and operation of residential and commercial gas appliances and related accessories. It also includes the work of an owner or contractor who desires to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace a mechanical system, the installation of which is regulated by the code.
Licensed Contractors (Master Pipefitters, Refrigeration) and homeowners (single family owner-occupied performing the work with no other outside assistance) may come to our office to fill out an application for a mechanical permit. The mechanical division will only accept checks or money order (no cash). When rough mechanical, finish mechanical or repairs are completed, the applicant should call our office between the hours of 8:30-4:30 to make an appointment for an inspection.
