Licenses
The City Clerk's office issues State of RI Hunting and Fishing licenses. Please see below for the types of hunting and fishing Licenses issued and documents required at the time you apply.
All Licenses applications must be made in person at the office of the City Clerk, 3rd Floor, Providence City Hall.

REQUIREMENTS / RESTRICTIONS
- To qualify for a fishing license you must present a photo I.D.
- To qualify for a hunting license you must present a photo I.D. AND either a prior year Rhode Island hunting license OR a hunting certificate.
- To qualify for a resident license (hunting or fishing) you must have been a resident of Rhode Island for the past 6 months. If you have not been a resident of Rhode Island for the past 6 months you can qualify for a non-resident license.
