Ellie's Bakery
There is a tasty new addition to downtown Providence.
Only a month after its opening in the new, first-floor retail space of the Biltmore Garage, Ellie's Bakery has caught on quickly with the downtown community.
The intimate bakery, inspired by the Parisian way of life, offers a quiet refuge from the bustle of Washington Street.
A tempting selection of pastries, signature French macarons, artisan breads and gourmet sandwiches line neat glass cases.
"I fell in love with the size and location and thought it would be a good fit," owner Ellen Slattery said. "I just love Providence."
Slattery is no stranger to Providence, as she also runs another Washington Street culinary landmark - Gracie's.
