Located in the rear of the U-haul were items that appeared to be taken from a housebreak including a safe, clothes, and computer equipment. Police also found a silver bb- gun, a box of latex gloves and a large crowbar. The house at 123 Cathedral Avenue appeared to be unsecured and ransacked. The homeowner confirmed there had been a housebreak and was brought to central station where he positively identified his items, including two firearms locked in the safe stolen by perpetrators. The three suspects were charged with Breaking and Entering, Conspiracy and Possession of a firearm without a license. They were held for the next session of 6th District Court.
18 Ridgeway Avenue B&E with apprehension
On January 16 at approximately 7:30pm Patrol Officers Brian Muldoon, Daniel Sirignano and Richard Esposito responded to 18 Ridgeway Avenue for a report of a house alarm. When police arrived at the scene they observed several sets of footprints in the snow leading to the rear window, which was broken and boarded up with plywood. The plywood was cut and pried open leading into a sunroom area. Police then surrounded the residence. The homeowner responded to the scene and allowed police access into the residence. Police announced their presence and heard a male voice say "hello" from the basement. Police then asked the subject(s) to show their hands and respond upstairs. Two subjects identified as Carmen Famulare, age 44, and Nelson Lora, age 25, responded upstairs and were taken into custody.
As police began to further search the residence and more police officers arrived to the scene, a third subject exited out of a side door and identified himself to police with his hands up. The subject, identified as Gagik Mkrtchian, age 33, stated he was giving up and didn't want to hide anymore. Mkrtchian was then taken into custody.
The homeowner stated to police he did not give the suspects permission to enter the residence. Police observed two large crow bars in the basement that did not belong to the homeowner. The three subjects were turned over to detectives and all stated they entered the vacant house with the intention of stealing copper pipes. They were all charged with Conspiracy and Breaking and Entering and held for the next session of 6th District Court.

Clements, Jr. "The Providence Police Department will continue to work diligently every day to keep hardened criminals off the streets of our City."
