WORKFORCE INVESTMENT ACT TITLE I
Notice is hereby given that the Providence/Cranston Workforce Investment Board is making available for public review and comment the documents associated with the Extension and Modification to the One-Year Title 1B Plan for the period July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
The Providence/Cranston Workforce Investment Board, legislated under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998, administers workforce investment services for the cities of Providence and Cranston. The Plan describes the area's workforce investment strategies related to services for adults, dislocated workers, youth and employers and aligns the four primary goals within the Strategic Workforce Plan for Rhode Island 2009-2014.
As outlined in instructions issued by the US Department of Labor in TEGL 17-, Rhode Island is selecting approval under Option I which extends the current State Plan for the period July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012or until subsequent guidance is issued due to WIA reauthorization.
Written comments are welcomed and will be accepted until June 13, 2011. The documents associated with the Extension and Modification can be accessed at www.workforcesolutionspc.com. Requests for copies may be made by calling (401) 861-0800 x104 to schedule a pick-up time between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Workforce Solutions of Providence/Cranston, 180 Westminster St, Providence, RI.
An oral hearing will be granted if requested by twenty-five (25) persons or a governmental subdivision or agency, or by an association having not less than twenty-five (25) members. A request for an oral hearing must be made within thirty (30) days of the date of this publication of notice.
