Recycle Alternatives

There are many things you can do to help.  Many residents have inquired what they can do to help our city other than recycling.  There are many recycling alternatives.
  • Instead of trashing old clothes or other things you have no use for anymore, have a yard sale.  Yard sales help you and the city consume less trash.  You can make a small profit off your old things and remember “one mans junk is another mans treasure.”
  • If a yard sale is to time consuming another alternative is to donate goods to a non-profit organization.  All you simply have to do is drop off your clean gently used items and you have helped your city, another family and done away with your waste.

What you can do to help!
Reporting city violations to the Department of Environmental Services is a way to help. Citizen complaints are taken very seriously and are all investigated. Complaints can be made about issues such as dumping, trash violations, and all other issues that pertain to sanitation.  After a complaint is made it is given to an inspector and if the resident or business is in violation of a city code a citation is issued.  Citations are given to property owners who have failed to keep our city safe for all residents and clean.  The city does not clean personal property; it is the sole responsibility of the property owner.
