This page is meant to serve the Providence community as a historical resource about their Fox Point Hurricane Barrier. It includes text about the structure, photo images, drawings, and extensive bibliography for further research. This page is also meant to serve as a resource for individuals who wish to support our effort to nominate the Barrier as Historic Place with the National Park Service.
A few notes about the page. It is divided up into five sections. The significance section has three more in depth discussions of certain aspects of the Barrier. Each page has a toolbar similar to the one below. The box with an arrow in it means "turn the page," that is, go on to the next page of the text. The box with a printer on it is a link to a more printer-friendly MS Word document. We also have the entire nomination form for the Barrier completely filled out and in *.pdf format. You need Adobe Acrobat to view it. I suggest viewing the page with Microsoft Internet Explorer
