PARENTS + GUARDIANS: Get to know your Pools and Water Parks!

  • All City pools and water parks are free and open to the public from 12:00 to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.


    The Recreation Department sponsors, coordinates and conducts programs and /or activities for all residents with an emphasis on neighborhood children. The department operates ten recreation centers, 6 swimming pools and 7 water park facilities. The recreation centers are open year round. Activities include basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, street hockey, arts & crafts, movies, special events, track & field, football, dodge ball, field trips, and neighborhood cookouts.

    The swimming pools and water parks are open during July and August with swim lessons available upon request.

    The Department offers transportation services for Providence youth organizations and has a regionally recognized summer lunch program, which serves over 6,000 youth daily at over 100 sites all over the city. As an extension of the school nutrition program, lunches are free of charge during July and August.

    With a wide variety of programs and special events, the Recreation Department has something to offer for each resident of the city.
