Providence Ordinance #274 requires that any building having 30 horse power or more boilers must havea boiler operator on duty. Buildings with more than 100 HP (boilers) require a Stationary Operating Engineer on duty. A Stationary Engineer is also required on duty when there is 100 Tons of refrigeration. Requirements for obtaining the subject licenses are as follows: 1. High school diploma or its equivalent, plus a recognized school. 2. Holding an apprentice license for at least (6) six months while working under a licensed operator Tests are given by city examiner ( Chief Mechanical Inspector)
