Welcome to the Department of Senior Services web site. This office has been established by Mayor Cicilline to address issues of importance for Providence's elder citizens. We have already launched many exciting events, and we will continue to grow to meet the challenges facing Providence's senior citizens.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Department of Senior Services is to enhance the quality of life for Providence's senior citizens through planning, coordinating, and monitoring the delivery of services to seniors in an efficient and effective manner. These services, provided in conjunction with various federal, state and municipal agencies will include: information and advocacy, prescription drug coverage, access to affordable health care, transportation, socialization, nutrition, planning and financial management, and safe and affordable housing.
