Olneyville New York System has been a cornerstone of the neighborhood for 60 years and in its present location for 50.  Greg Stevens and his sister, Stephanie Turini, along with their father Peter, are the present owners and operators.  As the 3^rd and 4^th generations of their family to run the business, they have catered to noontime diners and late night snackers from all walks of life.  If you want to sound like a New York System regular, be sure to ask for a wiener “all the way” (mustard, meat sauce, chopped onion, celery salt on a steamed bun), an order of “fries beef stew” (french fries with salt, vinegar and ketchup), and a coffee milk.  And do not ask where the restaurant is located in New York because New York Systems is a Rhode Island icon; there are none in New York.  Just another thing Rhode Islanders are happy to keep to themselves.
