For your convenience, The Providence Municipal Court provides four payment options: online, by mail, in person, or by the telephone IVR system at (866) 263-0475 (Interactive Voice Response).
Can I pay a moving violation online?
No. Moving violations must be paid in accordance with the instructions on the ticket. Please read your ticket carefully.
What if my ticket does not show up in the online database?
Most computerized tickets are posted to the database within 24 hours. However a "hand written" ticket can take up to 14 days. If your ticket is more than three days old and does not show up in the online system for payment, please follow the mailing instructions on your ticket or email the Municipal Court Administrator and your ticket number will be entered within 24 hours. Remember, you must pay or "Plead Not Guilty" to your ticket within 14 calendar days.

How can I pay a ticket?
Online
You can now pay your parking tickets online. Please have your ticket information and credit card available. The information you submit online is protected on a secure third-party site and will not be distributed for any reason. Online payments will be charged a$ 3 convenience fee per transaction, regardless of how many tickets you are paying.If you have 5 or more tickets and make your payment online, please keep in mind that you may not be removed from the boot and tow list for up to 24 hours.
By Mail
- Make your check or money order payable to the Providence Municipial Court and write the ticket number on your payment. Include the ticket, or if you do not have your ticket, write the vehicle's state and plate number on your check or money order (e.g. RI license plate #123456).
- Send your ticket and check or money order to:

- Payments are accepted at 325 Washington Street, Providence.
- If you bring your ticket with you, proceed directly to the cashier window to pay your ticket.
- You may pay by cash, check (only if not booted and 5 tickets or less), money order, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa). The boot is generally released within three hours after payment during normal business hours.
