Welcome to Transit Providence, a service provided by the City of Providence and designed to make the City's government and public resources more accessible through public transportation. Transit Providence provides residents and visitors with the fastest RIPTA routes to destinations such as City Hall, Providence Community Health Centers, the Providence Performing Arts Center, neighborhood parks and branches of the Providence Public Library.

All government locations and many other destinations are conveniently located directly on RIPTA bus lines.

To use Transit Providence simply:

• Choose the category of your destination from one of the tabs above.
• Select your desired location from the list (this will open a separate Google application)
• Enter your starting location and planned time of departure in the Google application
• Click the "Get Directions" button

This will instantly provide you with the most convenient RIPTA bus route, time of departure, transfers and printable directions. If you would like directions for another means of transportation simply click on the pedestrian, bicycle or automobile icons just above the starting location in the Google application.
